Tom Douglas Ambrose

Tom was born on 31 October 1895 at Chilton near Thame where his father was the headmaster of the local elementary school. One of four children, he entered LWGS as a day boy in the summer term of 1908, placed in form III and left at the end of the spring term 1911 from form IV. After leaving school he helped his brother as a wheelwright. He served in the City of London Royal Fusiliers with the rank of Private.

Later he became a milk salesman and married Isabel Dudley in the early 1920s. They had one daughter Audrey, who was born in 1923.

He died in Barnet in 1972.
