Data Protection Policy

Data Protection
The OTA holds a limited amount of data about members which may include name, address and contact details, and years at the School. Data may only be used for a range of alumni activities, including mailing, promotion of events, services, benefits and fundraising. It is never shared with third parties. Under the terms of the 1998 Data Protection Act, and the more recent GDPR legislation you have the right to object to the use of your data for any of these purposes.

What do you do with the data you hold on me?

Information gathered by the OTA is kept on a secure database, which can be accessed only by a limited number of authorised committee members. Data is held in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and is used only for creating closer links between the School, OTA Clubs & Societies, and fellow OTs, some of whom will reside outside of the European Union. We will not publish your details without your consent but please note that you should tell us if you object to us doing this, nor do we sell our data to third parties for commercial purposes.

If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to us.
Could I have an address list of all those in my year group/area?
It is no longer possible to supply these details. However we can pass on your details to others if you make a specific request e.g. I would like to contact students in my year group.

Can you put me in touch with someone in another profession whom I can talk to about their career?

Please let us know your needs and we will add your request our web-site.

Can you help me to advertise my business to other OTs?

Whilst we will not give out OT addresses or do any specific mailings to OTs for advertising purposes, we can publicise your business and website free of charge within our newsletter mailings. Please note that this is an advertising not a recommendation service. We cannot accept responsibility for website content or services provided by any of the companies listed.
